Travel information
Arriving at the Vienna International Airport Schwechat
The airport is located 16 km outside of the city. Comfortable and swift public transportation offers the CAT – City Airport Train which connects the airport with the train station “Wien-Mitte” within 16 minutes. Please then transfer to U3 (orange line), direction Ottakring, exit at station “Herrengasse”. The Hofburg is within 3-5 minutes walking distance.
You can also use the airport bus that will take you to the station “Wien-Mitte” within 30 minutes, please then transfer to U3 (orange line), direction Ottakring, exit at station “Herrengasse”. The Hofburg Vienna is within 3-5 minutes walking distance.
Arriving by train
To Vienna “Westbahnhof”, then take the U3 (orange line), direction Ottakring, exit at station “Herrengasse”.
To Vienna “Meidling” (“Südbahnhof” is currently closed), then take the U6 (brown line) station “Philadelphiabrücke”, direction Floridsdorf, exit at station “Westbahnhof”, then take the U3 (orange line), direction Ottakring, exit at station “Herrengasse”.
Arriving by car
The Hofburg Vienna is located in the city centre. Take the autobahn exit “Zentrum” (Centre) from the autobahn A1 or A2 and follow the signage to the “Hofburg”. The entrance to the congress centre is at “Heldenplatz”. A parking area for 200 cars will be available for the congress participants near the entrance “Heldenplatz”.
